The RKI GX-3R is the world’s smallest 4-gas monitor, weighing just 3.52 ounces and designed for ultimate convenience. Its compact dimensions (2.2” W x 2.55” H x 1.02” D) allow it to be comfortably clipped within a worker’s breathing zone, as defined by OSHA. This innovative device simultaneously monitors and displays LEL combustibles, O2, CO (with hydrogen-compensated CO available), and H2S.
The GX-3R showcases the latest evolution in gas detection technology, utilizing a new generation of micro sensors. The LEL sensor features a unique design with two active filaments to enhance resistance to silicone poisoning. Should one filament be compromised, the second takes over. The electrochemical O2 sensor boasts a lifespan of 3 to 5 years, while the H2S and CO are now available in a combo micro sensor.
Safety supervisors will appreciate the GX-3R's non-compliance indicator. The instrument's 3 LED lights flash every 30 seconds under specific conditions: if the device hasn’t been bump tested, calibration is due, or a gas alarm event has occurred. These LED lights continue flashing every 30 seconds until the issue is resolved, with the interval adjustable for convenience.
Traditionally, only single-gas monitors were compact enough for practical use within a worker's breathing zone. Now, the RKI GX-3R, smaller than many single-gas monitors, provides comprehensive 4-gas monitoring, ensuring enhanced safety and compliance in hazardous environments.
